Articulation/Phonology – the pronunciation of sounds
Receptive Language – understanding spoken language
Expressive Language – using words and sentences
Pragmatics – social communication
Stuttering – repetition of words or parts of words
Literacy – pre-literacy skills such as awareness of sounds in words, reading and spelling
Parents/carers are encouraged to contact Central Coast Speech Pathology Services to discuss any concerns and arrange an appointment if appropriate. Assessments may be conducted at home and/or at school or preschool. Assessment may involve observation during play, informal or formal assessments, and discussion with parents/carers and others involved in the child’s care (eg. teachers, doctors, other allied health professionals). Once results have been reviewed, verbal and written feedback is provided.
